Dashboard Overview

Understanding your content metrics and insights

Your ContentCompass Dashboard

The dashboard is your command center, providing real-time insights into your content pipeline. It automatically updates as you create ideas, change statuses, and schedule content, giving you a constant pulse on your content creation progress.

Content Status Overview

The main stats card shows your Active Ideas (content you’re working on) vs. Archived Ideas (completed or shelved content).

  • Use the “View all ideas” link to drill down into active content
  • Use “View archived” to see completed or paused projects
  • Numbers update instantly as you create, archive, or reactivate ideas

This gives you an immediate sense of your current workload and content inventory.

Status Summary Dashboard

This powerful section shows exactly how many pieces of content are in each status. You can toggle between three views:

  • “All” - Shows everything (personal and team content combined)
  • “Mine” - Shows only your personal content
  • “Team” - Shows shared team content only

Each status displays:

  • Count of items in that status
  • Percentage of your total content
  • Visual progress bar for quick scanning
  • Team badge on statuses shared with your team

Content Pipeline Visualization

When you have scheduled content, you’ll see visual breakdowns of your pipeline:

  • “Chart” view - Pie chart showing proportions of content in each status
  • “Column” view - Bar chart comparing quantities across statuses

This helps you identify bottlenecks quickly. For example, if you have lots of drafts but few scheduled items, you know to focus your efforts on moving content through your pipeline rather than creating new ideas.

Recent Activity and Quick Access

The dashboard provides several quick access sections:

Recent Ideas

Shows your three most recently created ideas with:

  • Content titles and categories
  • Associated tags
  • Creation timestamps

Upcoming Posts

Displays content scheduled for publication in the near future, helping you stay on top of deadlines.

Top Tags

Reveals your most-used content topics, helping you:

  • Identify popular themes in your content
  • Spot content gaps or opportunities
  • See patterns in your content creation

Real-time Updates

Your dashboard updates automatically when you or team members make changes:

  • Create an idea → Watch the active count increase
  • Schedule content → See it appear in upcoming posts
  • Change statuses → Status summary updates instantly
  • Team activity → See collaborative changes in real-time

This real-time feedback keeps everyone aligned and informed without manual refreshing.

Using Dashboard Insights

The dashboard data helps you optimize your workflow:

  1. Identify bottlenecks - Look for statuses with disproportionately high content counts
  2. Balance your pipeline - Ensure content flows smoothly between statuses
  3. Track productivity - Monitor how many ideas you’re generating and completing
  4. Plan capacity - Use active vs. archived ratios to gauge workload

Pro Tip: Check your dashboard at the start of each work session to understand your content priorities. The visual breakdowns make it easy to see where you should focus your efforts for maximum impact.
